Copy users between clients
Copy selected accounts to another client or create a new account from an existing user.
Applies to userXpress 1.9.5.50
On this page
Copying uses existing account details as a starting point. Verify the source account’s roles and profiles before copying them to another user.
Copy to another system or client
- Select the source accounts in the Global User Table.
- Right-click the selection and choose Copy To, then the target system/client offered by the application.
- Review the copy dialog and its authorization-source choices.
- Confirm the target and the account details, then choose OK.
- Review the results in the destination client.
A successful copy of one account does not prove that the rest of the selection succeeded. Check existing IDs and target-client authorization errors individually.
Create a new user from an existing account
Select the source account in each intended client and choose Fast Copy. Enter the new user ID in Copy To, its first and last name, and the initial password. Select the account properties to inherit, check the sources and choose OK. Review the outcome in each target client.
When creating another account through the same dialog, recheck the retained password and property choices before entering the next ID and name. A retained choice is not a fresh confirmation that those authorizations suit the next user.
Use Create a user when you need to select common and client-specific attributes directly. Use account-list batch creation when the operation is driven by a list of new IDs and source accounts.
Copy roles separately
To copy only role assignments, use the role-copy action rather than copying the complete user. See Manage roles for assignment and validity checks.
