Connect to SAP

Add a system connection, manage AutoStart entries and disconnect a client from the workspace.

Applies to userXpress 1.9.5.50

Have your system entry, client, SAP user ID and approved logon method ready. If the system is missing from the available list, check your SAP connection configuration with your administrator.

Connect a system

  1. In Control Panel, open Connected Systems.
  2. Select Add, then choose the system.
  3. Complete the logon details for the intended client.
  4. Enable Auto Start only if you want this connection saved for subsequent application starts.
  5. Complete the logon and wait for loading to finish.

The connected system appears in Control Panel. Its users and roles become available in the global tables. A successful connection does not mean every subsequent administration operation is authorized.

Check the selected system, client and logon details before connecting.

Manage AutoStart

Open AutoStart Systems in Control Panel. Select Add to save another connection. Enter its logon details and answer the prompt about connecting immediately.

To update stored credentials, disconnect that client first, then double-click its entry in the AutoStart view. Edit the credentials and confirm the dialog to save them and connect. If the system is configured for SNC single sign-on, the application offers a connection through SSO instead of editing a password.

To stop connecting automatically, select the entry in AutoStart Systems and choose Remove. This removes the saved startup entry; it does not delete users in SAP.

Some configurations use a consolidated Connections view instead of separate Connected/AutoStart tabs. In that view, manage the selected entry through its connection controls; double-click its system description to edit connection settings. AutoStart options may also be unavailable under the installed feature configuration.

Review saved connections and the AutoStart setting independently.

Disconnect

In Connected Systems, select the system/client connection and choose Remove. Confirm that you selected the intended client. Disconnecting ends that connection in userXpress; it does not delete the SAP system or its users.

If a connection fails

Check the system and client, network access and the selected authentication method. If saved credentials stopped working after a password change, update the AutoStart entry. Check whether the same account can log on using your organization’s supported SAP tools.

Do not repeatedly retry a rejected password: follow your organization’s account-lockout procedure. For persistent failures, collect the exact message and system/client context for support.
